Hey folks! You may have heard we lost power today, and yep, that’s true. The transformer behind the hotel decided to wake up and choose violence. ⚡️

The good news? We thought the power might be off for days, but NL Power swooped in and got us back up and running. Whew!

All that to say: the restaurant will be open tonight starting at 6pm!

Bear with us, we didn’t get to prep today, so the menu will be limited as the evening goes on. But we’re here, we’re open, and we’re ready for some Friday night good times!

Our lobby just became a mini gallery. Every two months, a new Western NL artist takes over our gallery wall in partnership with Picture It In A Frame.

Settle into a cosy chair, fall in love with a piece, then pop next door to purchase. It will ship to you once the installation ends. 🎨🖼️

Our first artist is Lori Deeley, a mixed medium artist, art therapist and art educator. You can enjoy the lines, light and texture of her natural landscapes for the summer, and meditate on place with us.

Meet our Artist in Residence, Michelle MacKinnon.

Throughout the summer, Michelle will create a powerful textile work in our lobby exploring motherhood, healing, identity, and the postpartum experience for an upcoming exhibition at the Grenfell Art Gallery in 2027.

Guests are invited to stop by, watch the work take shape, ask questions, bring their own projects, and connect with the creative process.

You can find Michelle working in the lobby on select Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays all summer long.

The Seacan is serving daily from 12pm–10pm (weather permitting), with a heated patio, full Boomstick Alehouse menu, cold pints, and summer vibes.
