Driving around today, I noticed something.
There are still a lot of RVs sitting in storage lots.
Not just a few. Rows and rows of them.
And it got me thinking...
What's the point of owning an RV if it spends more time parked in a yard than parked beside a lake, river, mountain, or campfire?
Maybe that's just me.
On the flip side, kudos to everyone who was towing today. The wind was no joke. Every time I saw a trailer on the highway, I was silently wishing them a safe trip and hoping they arrived with their nerves intact.
I've also noticed more and more "Walmart campers" lately. Sometimes that's part of the adventure, but there are a lot of other options out there if you're willing to look for them.
The funny thing is, all of these observations point back to the same idea: getting more value out of your RV.
If it's sitting in storage, maybe it could be earning income when you're not using it.
If you're traveling, maybe there's a more interesting overnight stop than a parking lot.
If you're road-tripping, maybe it's worth knowing which overnight spots are actually RV-friendly before you pull in.
And if you're towing through days like today, having the right insurance and roadside protection probably isn't the worst idea either.
I've put together a directory of RV-related brands and services that I've either used, researched, or found useful over the years. You might discover something that makes your next trip a little easier.

Now I'm curious...
How many nights has your RV spent camping so far this year compared to sitting in storage?
