🍀 IRELAND 2027 TOUR UPDATE 🍀
As many of you know, our Ireland 2027 Quilt & Textile Tour itinerary originally included a visit to Quilt Fayre in Northern Ireland. Unfortunately, the event has recently announced its closure following the organizer's retirement (congratulations Margaret & Yvonne!).
While we were disappointed to hear the news of Quilt Fayre, we still have plenty of authentic Irish quilting experiences on our itinerary. I'm excited to share that we have arranged a very special experience that perfectly aligns with the spirit of our tour!
✨ NEW FOR 2027 – SHIRT TALES NI ✨
Located within the historic walls of First Derry Presbyterian Church in Derry, Shirt Tales NI celebrates the city's remarkable shirt-making heritage through storytelling, hands-on stitching, and community connection.
Hosted by Catherine and Margaret, a passionate mother-and-daughter team, we'll enjoy a fascinating presentation and workshop that explores Derry's proud textile legacy. Even more special, participants will learn from an original sewing lesson based on a needlework textbook first published in 1831 and used in Irish girls' schools throughout the 19th century.
This unique experience combines textile history, heritage craftsmanship, gentle humour, and warm Irish hospitality in one of the city's most distinctive and meaningful spaces.
Sometimes the unexpected leads to something even more memorable—and I believe this will be one of those experiences.
🇮🇪 Join me in Ireland in 2027 for an unforgettable textile adventure filled with history, creativity, friendship, and inspiration.
