🌅 Fernie knows how to end the day.

As the sun starts to drop behind the mountains, the views around Fernie Mountain House put on a pretty good show. The peaks catch the last of the light, the sky changes by the minute, and suddenly nobody is in much of a hurry to head inside.

The nice thing is, you don’t have to go anywhere to enjoy it. With mountain views from both the front and back of the house, there are plenty of places to take it all in. Settle into an Adirondack chair on the deck, stay a little longer in the hot tub, or watch the colours change through the floor-to-ceiling windows in the Great Room.

After a full day of exploring Fernie, this is a pretty good way to wind down. 🏔️

🏔️ Here, you don’t have to go far to enjoy the outdoors.

The deck at Fernie Mountain House gives the whole group another place to gather, with mountain views in the background and plenty of room to settle in after a day of hiking or biking in Fernie.

Pull up an Adirondack chair, switch on the string lights and enjoy the view as the day winds down. And when the mountain air starts to cool, the hot tub is only a few steps away.

It’s an easy place to slow down, catch up and enjoy a little more time outside. 🌲

🥾 There’s something about a morning in the mountains that makes an early start worth it.

Summer hiking in Fernie means quiet trails, cool mountain air and views that tend to make you forget how far you’ve climbed. With everything from relaxed valley trails to bigger alpine days, there’s plenty to explore throughout the Elk Valley. 🏔️

And after a few hours on the trail, Fernie Mountain House is a pretty good place to come back to. Trade hiking boots for the sauna, cool off in the cold plunge, then finish with a soak in the seven-person hot tub. Not a bad way to give those legs a break after a day in the mountains.

At Fernie Mountain House, the deck gives you a front-row seat to the surrounding mountains, with plenty of space for the whole group to settle in and enjoy the view.

Start the morning outside with a coffee, fire up the natural gas BBQ after a day on the trails, or claim one of the Adirondack chairs while everyone decides what’s next. With a sectional couch, outdoor fire feature and seven-person hot tub, there’s no need to rush back inside.

With its south-facing position, the deck gets plenty of sunshine throughout those long Fernie summer days.

Because sometimes the best part is simply settling in, enjoying the view and having nowhere else you need to be. 🏔️

Seven bathrooms means everyone has space to get ready. 🚿

Fernie Mountain House was designed with groups in mind, with seven bathrooms offering a little more space and privacy throughout the home. Three of the Master suites have their own private attached bathrooms, so mornings don’t turn into a lineup outside the door.

After a dusty day mountain biking, hiking Fernie’s trails, or unwinding with a sauna and cold plunge session, having plenty of space to shower and reset makes all the difference.

Add two sets of washers and dryers for muddy trail gear, and the house is well set up for those full summer days where everyone comes home needing a rinse at roughly the same time.

Summer at Fernie Mountain House means the mountains are right outside your door, and there’s no shortage of ways to explore them. ☀️🏔️

One of our favourites? Trading the trails for the Elk River.

Canyon Raft Co offers guided river floats through the Fernie Valley, with the Lizard Range as your backdrop and plenty of time to sit back and take it all in. It’s an easy addition to a summer stay, especially when the afternoon calls for being on the water. 🚣

After a day on the river, head back to home base, grab a seat on the deck, fire up the BBQ, or unwind in the Great Room while deciding what tomorrow’s adventure will be.
