We hope everyone has there awnings put in, it’s starting to look really dark here!

Good morning! We’ve been going over the latest model data this morning, and our detailed forecast released last night remains very consistent with what we’re seeing.

As such, we are sticking with this map as our final forecast for today.

We strongly considered upgrading part of the region to an ‘extreme’ risk (level 5/5). However, while today is shaping up to be a potentially dangerous severe weather day, we believe the threat is still appropriately covered by our ‘significant’ risk.

For us to introduce an ‘extreme’ risk, our criteria generally requires the potential for a tornado outbreak or a derecho. A tornado outbreak is certainly on the table today, but confidence isn’t quite high enough to justify an upgrade.

Some models continue to show storms transitioning fairly quickly into a more linear mode, which would reduce the amount of time individual supercells have to develop and potentially lessen the overall tornado threat.

If we were to introduce an extreme risk zone, it would likely be focused southeast of Lake Huron, southward into the London area and east through the Kitchener area. Models have consistently highlighted this corridor as having the strongest environment for tornado development.

A strong tornado is possible somewhere within this corridor if a supercell develops at the right time and can remain isolated long enough to take advantage of that environment.

In our earlier forecast, we also mentioned some disagreement regarding timing. Models appear to be getting a better handle on that after ingesting data from this morning’s storms.

The slightly later scenario now appears more likely, with thunderstorms expected to develop along a corridor stretching from Lake Huron toward the Lake Simcoe area between approximately 3 and 5 PM.

We’ll also be closely watching for isolated thunderstorms developing ahead of this main corridor, particularly north of the Lake Erie shoreline. Any isolated supercells that develop in this area during the afternoon will likely pose the greatest tornado threat, along with the potential for very large hail and damaging winds.

The main complex of storms is expected to sink south and east through the late afternoon and early evening, reaching the Golden Horseshoe around 6 to 8 PM.

By this point, we expect the primary threat to gradually shift away from very large hail and tornadoes toward more widespread damaging wind gusts as storms become increasingly linear.

However, the tornado threat won’t disappear completely. Brief spin-ups capable of producing an isolated tornado will remain possible within the line as it tracks through the region.

The severe weather threat should come to an end later this evening as the mature complex of storms moves south of the border and into the United States.

Needless to say, it’s going to be quite an active day, and the Instant Weather team will be here to guide you through it safely! The best way to stay safe during severe weather is to stay informed about what is heading your way.

We plan to go live on YouTube within the next few hours, before storms begin developing, and we’ll stay live until the severe weather has tracked out of our region.

Our live stream combines real-time radar analysis with reports from our incredible storm reporting community, helping us quickly identify dangerous storms and keep you informed about what is heading your way.

🎤🎶 CAMPERS, IT’S KARAOKE NIGHT! 🎶🎤

Join us this today on the patio for a night of karaoke, laughs, and questionable musical decisions! 😂

Come sing your heart out—or just cheer on the brave souls who think they sound just like the original artist. 🎶😎

And remember: karaoke is like a campfire… everyone gathers around, and eventually someone gets burned. 🔥😂

A few dad jokes to warm you up:

Why did the singer bring a ladder? Because they wanted to hit the high notes! 🎤
What do you call a camper who can really sing? A happy camper! ⛺🎶
Why don’t karaoke singers ever get lost? They always follow the beat! 🥁
So grab your friends, bring your best (or worst) singing voice, and meet us on the patio tonight!

🎤 Sing it. Laugh at it. Pretend you meant to hit that note. 😂

We’ll see you there! 🍻🎶

🎤✨ KARAOKE NIGHT: WHAT WOULD DOLLY DO? ✨🎤

🎶 Well, if there’s one thing we know… Dolly Parton would say:
“Grab a microphone, have a little fun, and don’t forget to laugh!” 🤠💖

So saddle up, campers! 🤠🌟 On August 29, we’re turning the patio into a stage for an evening full of music, laughter, big voices, and maybe a few wonderfully questionable singing choices! 😂🎤

Because just like Dolly, we believe music is better when it brings people together—and there’s always room for a little more laughter along the way. 💕🎶

🌟 7:00–9:00 p.m. — Ages 18 & Under
Calling all our young stars! 🎤✨ Grab the mic, pick your favorite song, and show us what you’ve got!

🌙 9:00 p.m.–1:00 a.m. — Ages 19+
The grown-ups get their turn! Come sing, laugh, cheer on your friends, and prove that having fun is more important than actually knowing all the words. 😉🎤

🚨 PLEASE NOTE: The 9:00 p.m.–1:00 a.m. session is strictly 19+. No exceptions. Please enter through the gate at the playground for the evening session.

We had such a great turnout last month, and we can’t wait to do it all over again!

So grab your friends, pick a song, and remember:

💗 What would Dolly do?
She’d probably sing it… and look fabulous doing it. 💅🎤✨

August 29 — come for the music, stay for the laughs! 🎶😂

💗 A Little More Like Dolly 💗

Today, the world said goodbye to a truly special lady. Dolly Parton passed away at 80, and we’re going to miss that big voice, bigger heart, and even bigger hair. 💕✨

Dolly had a way of reminding us that kindness never goes out of style. She gave generously, made people laugh, lifted people up, and somehow managed to look fabulous while doing it all. 😄

And honestly, in a world that can feel a little… well, you know… crazy sometimes, maybe we could all take a page from Dolly’s book.

Be a little kinder.
Help somebody when you can.
Laugh a little more.
Worry a little less.
And if all else fails, add a little sparkle. ✨

Here at Heidi’s Campground, we think that’s a pretty good way to live.

So today, let’s raise a coffee, a cold drink, or whatever happens to be in your camp chair cup, and say:

Thank you, Dolly. For the music, the laughter, the kindness, and the reminder that you can be a whole lot of fabulous without forgetting to be a good human. ❤️

We’ll try to keep things a little kinder down here. And we promise not to let the campground hair standards get too out of hand. 😉
