Thank you so much to everyone who has reached out and commented on the damage from the flooding at our campground. We truly appreciate the concern and support.
The campground is still there — we just won’t know the full extent of the damage until the water finally goes down. As hard as it is to see, we’re also very aware that others are facing far worse. At least it wasn’t our home, like so many families in other areas who are dealing with devastating losses. My heart goes out to every single person affected by this flooding.
We’re all feeling a bit trapped right now with so many bridges/culverts/roads in the Shell River Valley damaged or washed out.
People have been asking me about the culvert that washed out on April 21, 2026 between Hwy #83 and our campground — it still hasn’t been repaired. The culvert itself arrived shortly after the washout, but nothing has been done since. The RM has promised it will be repaired before Father's day weekend.
I also want to give a huge thank‑you to Jenna and Tony, who did everything they could to move things out of the way and prepare for the flood waters. Your hard work and quick action meant so much.
Thank you as well to the Inglis Fire Department and anyone else who stepped in to help get everything out of the concession. We were incredibly fortunate that the concession booth itself was spared — the water never reached it, and we’re so grateful for that small bit of good news.
And thank‑you to Adam Coder from Manitoba Hydro for coming down and getting the power shut off at the campground for us. That gave us real peace of mind in the middle of all this chaos.
Once the water recedes we will begin cleanup and get things back up and running!
