🐾 Meet the REAL owners of Windrose Cottage 🐾
We often say Windrose is our family cottage — but if we’re being completely accurate, it really belongs to these three. ❤️
Meet the furry faces behind Windrose:
🐾 Charlie, 13 — our Portuguese Water Dog who, ironically, hates the water. 😂 His favourite Windrose activity is slowly pacing around the kitchen island waiting for someone — anyone — to drop food.
🐾 Princess Leia, 6 — the complete opposite. Leia LOVES the water. Getting her into the lake is never the problem. Getting her back out is another story.
🐾 Lexi, 2 — our baby, who thinks the Windrose hill was specifically designed for her to run up and down at full speed, living her absolute best life with those ears flapping in the wind.
Windrose is their home too. The dog beds and toys you see around the cottage belong to them, and they’re very happy to share them with the furry family members who come to stay. 🐶
Because we’re animal people ourselves, being pet-friendly has always been important to us. We know how much better a family getaway can be when the WHOLE family gets to come.
We also want to explain something about our pet fee, especially for anyone considering bringing their four-legged family member along.
We do not charge our guests a general cleaning fee at Windrose.
We do, however, charge a small flat $50 pet fee per stay.
As much as we adore animals, the reality is that pets add another level to the cleaning between guests — fur on furniture and bedding, floors that need extra attention, nose prints, muddy or wet paws and all those little signs that tell us a furry guest has been enjoying their vacation too. 🐾
That $50 isn't about discouraging pets. Quite the opposite. It helps us continue welcoming them while making sure Windrose is thoroughly cleaned and ready for the next guests — especially those who may not be travelling with pets.
All we ask is that pets are included on your reservation when booking so we know they're coming. It also means we can make sure everything is ready for them too. ❤️
Charlie, Leia and Lexi wouldn't have it any other way.
After all, they just let Jason and me manage the place. 😉🌿
