Happy back to school everyone!

New Fall hours start today! The campground office and store will be open 10-7 until further notice.

Pizza is still open 4-8 today! The new hours for pizza will be posted tomorrow.

Fall VMUTS rally coming up!

Information on the 2026 VMUTS Fall Rally Poker Run and Fun Run

Friday, October 2nd – Registration from 4-6PM. Evening fun run leaves the Mattawa Legion at 6:30PM. A bonfire awaits at the campsite on Trail 15.
If required additional parking is available at Mike Rodden Arena, Mattawa.

Saturday October 3rd - Rally leaves the legion after registering (between 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.) if not already done so on Friday. Breakfast will be available for purchase at the Legion. Lunch with hot dogs, sausages, and hamburgers available on the trails at the 70 and 19 trail junctions at the west end of trail 70. Returning to the Mattawa Legion for a turkey dinner, poker hand and prizes.

A valid OFATV permit is required for all SXS and ATVs. Other trail users including trucks, dirtbikes, etc. require a VMUTS Multi-Use Permit. https://vmuts.ca/product-category/permits

Entry fee includes:
Friday – Night Run
Saturday – Dinner, Rally & Poker Hand

Driver $75 plus HST
Each Passenger $45 plus HST

We are looking to buy Littlest Pet Shops for a possible theme idea for 2027.

If your kids have any they’d like to sell we do not care what type of pets they are. If we get enough we will incorporate into an idea for next year!

These children just finished the scavenger hunt and are anxious to play candy bar bingo! If you are playing too head to the main beach now! We start playing in 5 minutes.

Today’s activities:

Meet at the main beach at 3pm for a scavenger hunt.

Then at 3:30 it’s candy bar bingo time! Bring a bar to participate and play. Winners receive the bars brought. How many depends on how many attend to play. We will play a few different games.

See you soon! Don’t forget there is still time to do the colouring contest too. This times a contest. You get a treat to participate but winners get a prize! Bring your colouring page to the office by 5pm today.

It’s The last long weekend of the summer!

There’s a lot going on at Smoke N Spurs 2.0 but we have some fun for the kids here too.

Pick up your colouring contest from the office and return it to the office by Saturday at 5 pm. Please ensure your name age and site number are on the back.

Meet at the main beach Saturday at 3pm for a scavenger hunt followed by candy bar bingo at 3:30. Don’t forget to bring your candy bar to participate. We play until all the bars are gone!

Well it rained on our picnic but we got to adopt out 18 teddy bears today! These bears have found new homes in caring families. Everyone made a necklace and a name tag for their bears, got an adoption certificate, a popcorn and teddy graham snack and a gummy bear sticker.

Thank you everyone who came to adopt a bear! May you create many happy memories together. Feel free to introduce your new bears in the comments. Add a picture and state their name!

The teddy bears are anxiously awaiting their new families! So grab your $2 and head to the main beach for noon!

It’s sprinkling but we are under a tent so the picnic and adoption is on for 12! Bring an umbrella for your picnic blanket or a raincoat but it should only briefly sprinkle with luck!

The adoption and craft will happen no matter what and everyone get a beady-popcorn treat!
