For this year’s 'Shortest Journey Award', we didn't have too look far! A huge shoutout to our nearest guests of the season, who joined us from just 13 kilometres down the road in Cavan, ON! 🇨🇦🚗

A quick 15-minute drive was all it took for them to trade their backyard for the boat deck and spend a week captaining on the Kawartha Lakes.

That’s ALMOST wrap on another fantastic boating season! 🍂🍁 Heading into our final weekend!

With the Trent-Severn Waterway lockstations closing for the winter on October 13 following the Thanksgiving long weekend, we’ll also be wrapping up operations alongside the locks.

If you’re out walking the trails or enjoying the area over the cooler months, take extra care around the docks, walkways, and water.

⚠️ End of Season Operations ⚠️

Be advised that the Trent-Severn Waterway’s 44 lockstations located between Trenton and Port Severn will close for the season on October 13, following the Thanksgiving long weekend.

Parks Canada encourages the public to use caution in and around the waterway structures and channels over the winter months. From Thanksgiving to Victoria Day (mid-October to mid-May, lockstations will be closed and the use of the waterway will be at one’s own risk. Unmarked hazards may exist.

Wet leaves, ice, and snow may remain on stairs and walkways, and ice conditions on the waterway can vary. Boaters are advised that during the non-navigation season, aids to navigation may be missing, off-station, or inoperable until next spring.
