Please folks - do not ever use a bouncy castle rental company that is not insured or governed by the TSSA.
Our hearts are saddened to hear the incident that occurred in Montreal, where 11 people were injured plus a tragedy. This is something we have always feared happening, since there are many uninsured and ungovernered or inspected companies allowed to operate. It is so important to work with the weather, not against it, and is the reason we have had to postpone many events in the past as our customers know, despite the difficulty.
We feel responsible to protect our customers from allowing this to occur again.
The incident occurred during 70km/h winds, nearly 3x the windspeed in which we can operate.
Stakes are required to be sunk over 2 feet deep.
Bouncy castles for public events must be setup and inspected by a mechanic.
A trained operator must be present at all times.
Any rental in Quebec can be set up without any of these requirements.
All these requirements are the bare minimum. We also deem it necassary to use gym matts at every entrance/exit, cover the metal stakes with protective foam, isolate any electrical items from kids' reach, fence off any generators, and much much more. Setups that we do in Quebec receive the exact same process.
There are several other companies that are expemt from these requirements, such as the Crazy Bear traveling company, the mud run, and any items that are rented from Facebook marketplace. Beware companies from Quebec setting up in Ottawa.
Do not risk a tragety for a better price. You dont have to rent from me, but please choose a safe company. We have been operating for over 20 years without any incidents and are insured for 5 million, though, if you like our inventory!
These inflatables can lift off in seconds and should only ever be done with a lisenced, experinced TSSA mechanic. We will be posting a video of our full setup process very soon!
