kłlilx’w (Spotted Lake) is wondrous, to say the least.
Here is some recent drone recent footage of kłlilx’wt. I'm not clear on the ethical or moral implications of flying a drone over kłlilx’w as it as an area highly protected by the Syilx Okanagan Nation, and permission must be granted to visit it, but that is a debate for another time.
kłlilx’w can be viewed from the road and is located in the South Okanagan Grasslands Protected Area on Highway 3 west of Osoyoos. It is known for the unique spotted pattern on its surface caused by concentrations of rich minerals that include calcium, sodium sulfates and magnesium sulfate. The lake is a sacred place of healing for local First Nations communities who believe each different circle holds its own unique medicinal and healing properties.
