4:00 PM. May 4th at Arrowvale. This is an extra early start to what is shaping up to be a long, hot, and dry summer. +30 degrees a month and a half earlier than anticipated. No rain for more than a week and none in the forecast. We started irrigating on April 24th. More challenges to come BC's farmers and ranchers it looks like.

First day on pasture for 2026! There were some excited Belties when we opened the gate on the first day of strip grazing this morning. All of the old girls knew exactly what we were up to and were lined up like starters in the Kentucky Derby. A few of the yearlings missed the mark and wound up on the wrong side of the fence. All difficulties quickly resolved.

Some of you might remember the day back in 2014 when we dragged the old 1956 Ferguson TO 35 into the shop and mused about its restoration. Something was said about the possibility of it taking 2 years. Well...that turned out to be 11 years! We finally drove the finished project out of the shop on November 26th. Needless to say there was a lot more to it than we first envisioned. Rebuilt nearly from stem to stern and probably cost 4 times as much as the original selling price. Restored to original colours, it runs like new and is starting a second career as Fergie the farm mascot. We will be having a coming out party in the spring to celebrate the resurrection of our first farm tractor by marking its 70th birthday. More formal thanks to everyone who helped us along the way will be made then, just before we cut the cake1
