Itā€™s the end of an era at Shore Acres as the parkā€™s yellow entrance sign off Radical Road has been replaced with a more modern and eye-catching sign on an attractive wooden frame. The yellow sign was in place at the campground for at least 32 years. We hope campers enjoy the new, contemporary look here at Shore Acres Park.

The wide-open grassy spaces, mature trees, views of Lake Erie and plenty of room to enjoy a sunny day outside.

Yesterday was a pretty good example of why Shore Acres is such a great place to visit or spend the season.

Plan to skip the dishes and enjoy a delicious dessert, too, Friday, September 11 when both Tā€™nT Treats and Dollyā€™s Sandwiches visit Shore Acres Park. Dollyā€™s food truck, with its lip-smacking, hearty sandwiches and famous fries will be available for late lunch/dinner service starting at 2:30 p.m. All forms of payment accepted. Top off your meal with one of Tā€™nT Treatsā€™ tasty tarts or fabulous fritters starting at 5 p.m. in the clubhouse. The local Port Dover Farmers Market vendors take cash only. Bon appĆ©tit, campers. Leave the cooking to others, bypass the meal prep and simply start your weekend with some well-deserved relaxation.

ā˜€ļø Labour Day Long Weekend at Shore Acres Park!

Thereā€™s no better way to celebrate the last long weekend of summer than enjoying everything we love about life at the lake! Spend the day on our beautifully groomed beachfront, take a refreshing swim in the warm waters of Lake Erie, or grab your kayak or paddleboard and head out on the water. Take a stroll through the park, hop on your bike and explore the country roads and trails into Port Dover, challenge your neighbours to a game of co****le or horseshoes, or simply find a quiet spot by the lake with a good book.

Looking for a little adventure off-site? Head into downtown Port Dover for boutique shopping along Main Street, enjoy a delicious meal at one of the many local restaurants, or take in a show at the theatre. Then make your way back to Shore Acres, gather around the campfire with friends and enjoy another beautiful evening by the lake.

Whatever your plans, make the most of the long weekend, have some fun and enjoy these final days of summer together. Life is Better at the Lake!

Sweet was the word of the day at Shore Acres Park last Saturday as sweet (definition: delightful and pleasant) little campers dressed in their favourite Halloween costumes made their way around the park trick or treating. The other sweet (definition: pleasant taste of sugar or honey) was the arrival of the Harbour Cheesecake food truck with their yummy afternoon/after-dinner treat. Emily from the LaPointe family won the Candy In A Jar Guessing Contest and Best Decorated Trailer honours went to the the Harrison family on Perry Street. Thanks to all who participated in these fun activities.

What a perfect evening at Shore Acres Park! Campers enjoyed an incredible Birds of Prey show with the beautiful Lake Erie view as the backdrop last weekend.

Park Manager Joanne captured some great videos from the evening, and we couldnā€™t resist sharing a few highlights! A big thank you to the Canadian Raptor Conservancy for such a fun and memorable experience at the lake!

Summer is still going strong at Shore Acres Park, and so are our Thursday night euchre games! Campers of all skill levels are welcome to join us for some fun and friendly competition every Thursday at 7:00 p.m. through the end of September. Admission is just 50 cents. Oohs and aahs could be heard from amazed Shore Acres Park Campers of all ages when a representative from the Canadian Raptor Conservancy visited our beautiful campground. The majestic raptors put on a remarkable show as campers learned about hawks, kestrel falcon, bald eagles and owls, along with raptorsā€™ habitat and special hunting abilities. Overnighter campers Jim & Anne have camped at Shore Acres for many years and write, ā€œAnother great stay at the park! Thank you, Deb, for the warm welcome. Joanne, the park is immaculate from the top to the bottom. Fantastic job!ā€ We thank Jim & Anne for their kind words about our staff and our scenic campgrounds.
