Cedar Hot Sauce: Native Made!! We are hoping to inspire a steamy summer with our new partnership with Cedar Hot Sauce Company. Some of you may be aware that we here at Tribal Spirit are pretty serious FOODIES. We really enjoy great food. We actually have two chefs who share in the creating of lunches for our Tribal Team and boy do we eat well!!
So when a young couple from Joywind's home territory, Secwepemc reion of BC, reached out and asked us to offer their Indigenous MADE Hot Sauces we were thrilled to jump on board. The peppers are grown in Spences Bridge in British Columbia. We test tasted all of these sauces and give them our complete endorsement. They are delicious.

Gold Leather!! We received a pallet of quarter gold Moose 3.5, and half hide 'deer tanned' Cow and 'moose tanned' Cow from the tannery over the weekend. Absolutely your favourite colour for making moccasins, vests, bags etc. Gold moose leather 3.5 has been hard to keep in stocks theses days. It comes in one door and goes out the other. We have started producing/tanning 'deer tanned' cow and 'moose tanned' cow for customers who are doing more Upholstery or large production work when working with half hides is more efficient.

Gold Moose Leather 3.5 ounce is the PERFECT leather for moccasin and mitt making. Easily sewn by hand, this leather is smooth one side and suede the other. Moose Leather purses with scarring and bear fur trim. As we are picking out leather for orders, we sometimes come across moose hides with realy dramatic scarring. These are injuries that have healed. Mostly cuz when a moose comes across a fence....they tend to walk right through. We like to put aside these pieces of leather and make something special. This week we made a bunch of purses in different sizes and added some bear fur trim. Joywind made herself a purse a few years ago with bear trim and you wouldn't believe the number of people who compliment it. SO we thought we would share the design. Black& Cedarwood Deer Leather Seconds Super Sale!! $5/sq ft.

We are cleaning up the leather room and have a small pile of Black and Cedarwood leather and the grain/skin side is not so nice. But the suede side is just perfect…and we want to clean up. We rarely offer this price so I know that it will sell out quite quickly. Enjoy!! It took this picture in the morning in the sun and the black came out grey....BUT my hand shadow shows just how black it really is.
The suede side is 95% perfect. What makes these hides ‘seconds’ is the smooth side is not good. but the suede side is amazing….and really, how many of us can easily work our craft featuring the suede side. and save a ton of money!!

Our leather is from the Laurentian Mountains, north of Montreal in Canada. Each year during hunting season we recuperate hides from hunters who are feeding their families, but don’t need the hides. Tribal Spirit has Brain Tanned Deer: We have an abundant selection of both Smoked and Non Smoked hides in stock. Infinitely soft, about 2.3 ounces thickness, very clean hides in a wide range of sizes. Brain Tanned leather requires a ton of work and very difficult to get right. These hides are magic!! Using the traditional/historic way of turning the hides into leather using the brain of the animal. Most animals (us too I guess) have the chemicals in our brains to turn our skin into leather. Yup WOW.

Tribal Spirit Hand Drums. We offer a bunch of options. Joywind (the president of Tribal) does all our art drums. You can pick or as many customers do, they have art requests and Joywind is quite amazing at making them happen.
