The chanterelles came early this year — we found a flush of them growing between the domes last week. The deer are lingering longer into the mornings. Sunset arrives a little sooner each day. It’s not quite fall, but close enough to feel it coming.

This is the threshold season between summer and fall and we still have room for a few more late-summer stays before things shift.
