📸 Bringing a little piece of Shaunavon’s history back to life!

I’ve been working on restoring these two old postcard photographs, both made at a Shaunavon studio, and the process is definitely a labour of love. Each photograph is carefully cleaned using a neutral-pH solvent, then the shine is restored with wax. I gently buff it first with tissue and then with a microfibre cloth, repeating the process until the photograph is left beautifully clean and shiny.😉

These two postcards are dated 1916 and 1924, making them over 100 years old. Once the restoration is finished, they’ll be professionally framed and displayed on the walls of Eatoncourt Homestead this October.

And now comes the really fun part…

Shaunavon has an amazing collection of early photographs and archival material, including more than 3,300 photographs held by the Grand Coteau Heritage & Cultural Centre.
