🌟Staff Appreciation Post🌟

Now featuring the wonderful chef crew, Obe, Ryan, and Mekayla!
Obe is back for his 3rd season, Ryan for his second 2nd, and we welcomed Mekayla for her first season with us! This crew was outstanding this year, putting out the best tasting food we’ve ever had at the lodge.
Delicious breakfasts, newly feautured smash burgers on burger boat, back deck pizza party’s, and mouth watering desserts. All we can keep saying is yum 🤤! It is so nice to have such a well oiled machine in kitchen and we hope to see them all back in 2027! Thank you all!!!🥩🍰🍔

🌟Staff Appreciation Post🌟

The wonderful Guide crew! KJ, Chris, Braeden, Pierce, and our new guide Alex!

The guides have battled the wind and the rain this summer, caught tons of fish, and helped create memories that will last a lifetime. KJ and Chris have been with the lodge for 5 years! Braeden returned for year 3 and Pierce was back for year 2 of guiding but year 5 of working at the lodge. Alex had his 1st year with us after spending a few summers on the North and Central Coast.

This year there has been a bit more wind and rain than usual, but the guides have persevered through it all to catch Chinook (including 8 Tyees!) tons of Coho, as well as big Lings and Halibut. They found lots of whales, saw bears on shore, and fly-fished during beach bistro.

We can’t thank them enough for how much time and energy they put into each trip and for coming back year after year. We hope all the guys return in 2027!

Who recognizes this crew?! This week has been very special having the Sund crew back at the lodge. To make it even sweeter, Kincaid caught his first tyee yesterday on KJ’s boat with the entire family of 6 onboard to cheer him on. Then, legendary Sund’s guide Geoff Millar made an appearance! It has been a wonderful few days of reminiscing and making new memories ☀️

How is it already almost the middle of July?? Time flies when you’re having fun! The tyee count is up to 3 and a few coho have started to roll through. The Biggs and Northern resident orca’s are being spotted as well as black bears on the beaches in the inlets! The summer weather has been a little slow to come around, but we’re having fun regardless. We’ve been able to find some sun for our beach bistro lunch ☀️
