Life’s been full—hosting season = no time!

First Giant Swallowtail of the year 🦋
Reared last summer, overwintered in our garage, and just eclosed ✨

That underwing… stunning.
And yes—rue is its favourite 🌿the Giant Swallowtail lays eggs on the rue and the caterpillars love to munch on it.

Fantastic Opening Night at Stratford Festival and good luck to them for the 2026 Season!
One of my favourite parts is the Stratford Police Pipes and Drums, love Bagpipes music…Nice to run into many people we know (no pics 😢).
Love how magical The Tempest is, outstanding costumes-the Sea creatures are marvellous!

☀️Finally we can sit outdoors and enjoy the beautiful weather in our garden…the day is made especially sweet by the scent of the Lily of the Valley wafting through the air.

In honour of I am sharing an incredible experience we had last evening: a tiny 🐢Green Turtle starting its aquatic life journey in the Pacific Ocean, Guanacaste province, Costa Rica.
It’s pretty much the end of the season for the hatchlings however we were incredibly fortunate to have a chance to witness a baby reaching the ocean and a mama trying to create a nest. Photos of the mama will follow.
I didn’t edit the audio because it captured our reactions at the hurdles that the baby turtle conquered to reach the ocean, including crabs trying to get a bite of it.
Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the 1.15min video (the whole journey lasted much longer 😁)

Our 1904 bathroom…such a special one, it deserves its own reel! Wood paneling makes it welcoming, the cast iron 🛀 is super comfortable, the light fixture…well, it’s just beautiful. Want to soak in the tub? Please book the Windsor room.
