To conclude our Meet the Team series, we'd like to introduce Christopher Smith, General Manager of The Queen’s Cue!

Having spent more than five years with Marriott, Chris brings experience across luxury, lifestyle, and select-service hotels, working with guests from around the world. Passionate about thoughtful hospitality, he believes the best hotels become part of the communities they serve - creating experiences guests return to time and time again 🏨

What excites Chris most about The Queen’s Cue is the opportunity to help bring new life to a property that has meant so much to Stratford for generations. With a deep appreciation for the history of both The Queen’s Inn and the Boar’s Head, he sees this project as one of stewardship - preserving the character and stories that make the property special, while thoughtfully evolving the experience for a new generation of guests to enjoy for years to come.

Outside of work, you'll often find Chris travelling with his wife and their dog, Kylo, exploring new destinations and discovering local food and wine. At home, there's a good chance you'll find him in the kitchen - where his hospitality career first began and where his passion for food and beverage continues today 🍷

With more than eight years of experience in boutique hospitality, Melissa has built her career around bringing people together. Her thoughtful, hands-on approach ensures every detail is carefully considered, allowing guests to focus on what matters most - making memories.

Last week, we shared Andrew’s full-circle journey back to the Queen’s Cue. This week, we’re introducing another familiar face helping shape the future of The Queen’s Cue and Boar's Head Pub.

Meet Aashish Passanha, our Food & Beverage Manager 🍽️

With more than a decade of experience in food and beverage leadership, Aashish has built his career around creating exceptional guest experiences, developing strong teams, and bringing hospitality concepts to life. Known for his hands-on leadership style, he leads from the floor - setting the tone for both service and culture each day.

As a Stratford local, what excites Aashish most about The Queen’s Cue is the opportunity to help reintroduce a place already woven into the fabric of the community, while creating something new for guests and residents alike to enjoy for years to come.

When he’s not at the hotel, you’ll often find him outdoors, experimenting with new recipes at home, or spending time with his wife and their Mini Goldendoodle, Merlot 🐶

Meet Andrew Tutt, our Executive Chef 👨‍🍳

Andrew first stepped through the doors of this historic property at just fifteen years old, working as a dishwasher at the original Queen’s Inn. Decades later, after building an impressive culinary career across Stratford, Toronto, Calgary, and Canmore - including time in acclaimed kitchens alongside some of Canada’s most respected chefs - he now returns to lead the culinary vision for The Queen’s Cue & Boar's Head Pub.

With more than 30 years of experience spanning French bistros, luxury hotels, and independent restaurants, Andrew’s approach blends classical technique with globally inspired flavours, rooted in sustainability, local sourcing, and exceptional ingredients. For Andrew, this project is more than a new opening - it’s a return to where it all began.

When he’s not in the kitchen, you’ll likely find him spending time with his young family, discovering new destinations, or heading off on a road trip in search of great food and live music 🎶
