- Campground Etiquette: Unoccupied Stalls -
To ensure effective operations of the campground, please refrain from utilizing unoccupied sites as visitor or additional vehicle parking without first reserving them as these sites may be expecting inbound arrivals. This includes hosting additional visitor vehicles in single occupancy sites (such as Full Service stalls, and most power sites) in excess of maximum limitations (where parking will either obstruct emergency personnel access, obstruct roadways, or impact neighbouring sites). Overflow parking, playground parking, and the boat launch are available for visitor day usage, and is the proper campground etiquette.
For individuals hosting large events, we recommend reserving group sites which can safely accommodate additional visitor vehicles, or using available day use parking listed above.

We thank you for your cooperation in ensuring a safe, effective campground.

Pavilion Event / Peace Island Park Noise Bylaw.

As a family friendly campground, the pavilion and all campsites observe an 11PM noise policy, with the exception of park buy-out packages or District of Taylor Council issued permits. The purpose of this noise bylaw is to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of all campers within the campground. To be courteous and respectful of other campers, please ensure all noise pollution ceases by 11PM. Low level conversational dialogue is permitted in campsites following park quiet hours, provided it is not causing noise disturbances to other campers.

We thank everyone for their cooperation in ensuring a considerate, and courteous, camping environment.

Increased Patrols Advisory

The speed limit of Peace Island Park grounds is 10 km/hr, excluding provincially regulated roadways such as the Boat Launch Road, or the main Big Bam Road which is used as a high speed rural corridor.

Motorized vehicle users, please drive with care as little ones may run out in front of you or be hiding behind parked vehicles. Increased patrols will transpire throughout the weekend monitoring speed levels throughout the campground areas. Please be reminded that ATV/Dirtbike usage is prohibited on park grounds with the exception of designated usage sites. Electric scooters/E-Bikes/Golf Carts are permitted provided they are not capable of exceeding 30 km/hr, and are governed by the 10 km/hour speed limits within the park.

Thank you for your consideration, and for ensuring a safe campground experience.

08/09/2026

Considerate, courteous and safe use of electric recreational vehicles in the park is encouraged and greatly appreciated. Electric vehicles (which cannot exceed 30 KM/H) are permitted throughout the park (Electric Golf Carts, E-Bikes, NON-MODIFIED electric dirt bikes, and E-Scooters) however are subject to a 10KM/H speed limit on all Park Lands. Electric recreational vehicles with capabilities in excess of 30KM/H are not permitted for usage on park grounds.

While usage of ATVs/ Dirt Bikes is permitted in designated areas of Peace Island Park (ATV Sites only), illegal usage of ATVs/Dirt Bikes on park green spaces diminishes the natural beauty of the municipal park and campground while creating noise disturbances impacting camper experience. ATVs/Dirt bikes should be trailered in and out of Peace Island Park with the exception of designated ATV sites, and stored securely within truck beds or trailers while on non-ATV designated park grounds.

Big Bam Road is owned by the Province and is the jurisdiction of the PRRD. As a courtesy reminder, Big Bam Road serves as both a highway off-ramp, as well as a high speed rural corridor; additional caution should be used by non-motorized traffic and young users on this high-traffic area. The Province regulates the use of ATVs on public provincial roads through the Off-Road Vehicle Act 2014 and the Motor Vehicle Act. Municipalities regulate the use of ATVs on municipal properties through policy and bylaw.

Peace Island Park is private land that is leased to the District of Taylor. The District has set aside specific sites at Peace Island Park for the enjoyment of ATV use, but prohibits the use of ATVs outside of the designated sites for safety and courtesy reasons. ATVs are to be used in the designated sites only.
