Today we're heading just across the street to Little Cove Bakery. They're best known for their delicious butter tarts.

For our guests, it's a handy spot to grab a coffee, sandwich, Danish, or one of their popular butter tarts before heading out to explore Tobermory and the Bruce Peninsula.

When you're planning a day of hiking, paddling, or sightseeing, it's nice to have a quick grab and go option within walking distance.

Conveniently located across the street from us at Orange Bicycle!

How do you like your butter tart, with or without raisins? Little Cove Bakery and Pizza has both!

Good Tuesday morning everyone!

When people think of Tobermory, they usually picture boats, hiking trails, and crystal-clear water. But did you know we also have an airport?

It's less than a kilometre from Orange Bicycle, and over the years we've welcomed a few guests who arrived in their own small planes! (And they may fly us around!)

The airport operates seasonally from May to October and is currently seeing some welcome improvements. Along with a new fuel pump, the pilot lounge has been cleaned up and upgraded, creating a more welcoming space for visitors and local aviators alike.

A big thank you to our municipality and the staff specially Adam, for helping make these improvements happen. It's always encouraging to see people investing their time and energy into community projects that benefit both residents and visitors.

Whether guests arrive by car, boat, bicycle, or plane, we're happy to welcome them to this beautiful corner of the Bruce Peninsula. And yes, if you fly in, we'll even come pick you up from the airport and shuttle you around. After all it's hard to beat service from the runway to breakfast!

Have a wonderful week everyone.

What's your intention for travel? Maybe it's to taste the story of a place.

A few weeks ago we spent the day at one of our favourite stops on the Bruce Peninsula, Cape Croker Park where Ziibaakdakaan Maple carries on an Anishinaabe tradition that has existed for centuries. In Ojibwe, Ziibaakdakaan means "sugar bush," and maple syrup has long been part of the community, ceremony, and celebration. Nathan Keeshig was kind enough to give us a tour.

We love supporting local businesses that connect us to the land and the people who have cared for it for generations. That's why you'll also find this maple syrup at Peacock's Foodland in Tobermory—and it's the syrup we proudly serve with breakfast at Orange Bicycle.

A simple bottle of maple syrup can tell a much bigger story: of tradition, community, and the joy of sharing good food around the table.

Good Tuesday morning, everyone! Let's talk World Cup!

For Nick, it's pretty straightforward: Canada all the way. 🇨🇦

For me, it's a little more complicated. As an Iranian Canadian, my love for Iran—its people, culture, and history—doesn't always line up with the current Iranian national team. National pride and football loyalty aren't always the same thing. My Iranian pride lies with the brave and resilient people of Iran. Many of us feel that a team competing under the name "Islamic Republic of Iran" and bending under the pressure of the regime doesn't truly represent the country or its people.

We're also wondering if the World Cup is becoming a game for the wealthy. Once upon a time, ordinary fans could save up and follow their team. Today, between ticket prices, travel, and accommodation, many lifelong supporters are being priced out of the experience. Watching a World Cup match in person has always been one of my dreams, but I simply couldn't justify the cost.

The World Cup is still about passion, community, and bringing the world together. But who gets to be part of that celebration?

Let us know in the comments: What do you think about football, identity, and whether the beautiful game is becoming a little less accessible?

Who's your team this year, and have you ever had mixed feelings about cheering for them? ⚽☕🌍

We're excited to see the local collaboration between The Meeting Place - Tobermory and Escarpment Heights Motel to expand
⚡️Westlake E-Bikes⚡️ with two more rental bikes offered at the motel location.

Nick (The E-bikes fleet manager) and Brad (volunteer from TMP) built the station, thanks to Megan, Adam and the staff at Escarpment Heights to help create another easy way for visitors to explore the peninsula.

One of the things we love most about living here is how local businesses work together to make the visitor experience even better. More bikes, more adventures, and one more reason to leave the car behind and discover Tobermory at a slower pace.

Have you explored Tobermory by e-bike yet?

Another reminder of travel intention: stewardship.

To love a place is to help care for it. Yesterday we joined our neighbours for Scrub the Tub, helping pick up litter and doing our small part to keep this beautiful place healthy for everyone who calls it home or comes to explore.

Thank you to Blue Heron Co and DiveLifeTobermory for bringing the community together. Here's to exploring with gratitude and leaving places a little better than we found them.

It's a reminder that small acts, done together, can make a real difference.

When you visit Tobermory, leave nothing behind but footprints—and maybe take a little extra litter with you if you spot it.

Some of the best Tobermory memories are made on the water.

Last week, we joined our friend Mike from for a magical sunset boat tour. Diver, artist, and natural storyteller, he has a way of bringing the bay to life with local history, hidden spots, and tales from beneath the surface.

One of our favourite parts of hosting is connecting guests with people who make this place so special. Travel isn't just about where you go—it's about who you meet along the way. Mike's sunset tour was a reminder that the best local experiences come from people who know and love these waters.

Golden hour, good friends, and Tobermory from the water. Thanks for another unforgettable evening, Mike.

Happy Sunny Tuesday everyone!

At Orange Bicycle, we believe the best journeys happen when everyone feels welcome.

June is Pride Month, and this weekend our neighbours in Owen Sound will gather for the annual Pride Parade and Big Gay Block Party—a celebration of community, belonging, and joy.

As hosts, we've been thinking about what hospitality really means.

It's more than a comfortable bed or a good breakfast. It's creating a place where people can relax, be themselves, and feel at home. Whether you're travelling as a couple, with friends, with family, or on your own, everyone deserves to be greeted with kindness and respect.

Travel has a beautiful way of connecting us with people whose stories might be different from our own. And when we stay curious, open, and welcoming, those connections make our communities stronger.

So this Tuesday, we're raising our coffee mugs to inclusivity, to celebrating our neighbours, and to making room at the table for everyone.

Happy Pride Month. 🌈

Sometimes the best travel experiences aren't on a checklist. They're found behind a small-town storefront.

One of our favourite stops in Lion's Head is

Recently relocated to Main Street Lion's Head, it's part gallery, part workshop, and part creative inspiration. You'll find artwork by local artists, Canadian-made art supplies, handmade gifts, and plenty of reasons to slow down and browse.

This year we're exploring the idea of travelling with intention. Sometimes that means seeking out the places that reflect the heart of a community—the artists, makers, and small business owners who help tell its story.

If you're exploring the Bruce Peninsula this summer, add this one to your list.
Have you visited yet?

We love visiting Earthbound Gardens You never know what you find there! They also have live music on Sundays 2-4. You may run into Brenda, John or Judy during your visit. They're all very knowledgeable and love their job.

If your intention for travel is simply to slow down, make sure to stop by here. Breath and enjoy!

A visit to Earthbound Gardens is a gentle reminder that not every memorable experience needs an itinerary.

Sometimes it's a quiet walk through a garden, a moment of beauty, and the chance to reconnect with nature at your own pace.

These are the moments we often remember most.
