The casual atmosphere, eclectic mix of retro-chic decor, and an exciting variety of draught beer combine to make The Rex feel like a second home. Michael Sarian is at The Rex for two nights, praised by Downbeat for his "endlessly renewable strain of lyric improvisation regardless of context or material." Born in Toronto and raised in Buenos Aires, Sarian moved to New York City in 2012 and has since performed on some of the world’s most iconic stages.

The Pannonica Jazz Orchestra makes its Rex debut tomorrow night at 8pm !🎷🎺📯
A multi-generational, all-female ensemble led by trombonist and arranger Angela Pincente, playing music composed and arranged by women specifically for this group.

The name comes from Pannonica de Koenigswarter, the New York patron known as the Jazz Baroness, whose nickname turns up in the titles of tunes by the musicians she helped.

This week’s feature show brings Mark Kelso’s Mystic Isle Project to The Rex for four nights, Wednesday through Saturday at 8pm ✨

The acoustic quartet features music written for and dedicated to Kelso’s birthplace of Belfast and its surrounding areas in Northern Ireland, including music from his recording The Antrim Coast, a 2025 JUNO jazz nominee, brought to life by Luis Deniz, Mike Downes and Ewen Farncombe.
