Vancouver is awash in a multitude of soccer jerseys from nations around the world but Canada’s maple leaf emblazoned jersey clearly dominates the downtown landscape. With the FIFA World Cup games in cities all over North America this summer, Vancouver plays host to 7 of the 104 matches with plenty of action across the city! Even if you don’t have tickets to watch the now sold out games, many watch parties that generally do not require any tickets are scattered throughout the city.

Due to an exceptionally mild winter here on the West Coast, spring has sprung much earlier than usually anticipated signalling the beloved cherry blossom season. It's been commented that Vancouver's blossoms rival those in Japan, with all the pomp and pageantry, but far fewer crowds and none of the congested thoroughfares. Swaths of perfectly pink froth can be seen flanking streets throughout the city, as well as in public parks, squares, and gardens. What better way to celebrate spring than to enjoy a stroll down a city street or in one of the many parks where the blossoms are blooming?
