There’s still time for one more summer-ish adventure. 🌲

Park admission to Prince Albert National Park is free through September 7, so if you’ve been looking for an excuse to head north, this might be it.

Take the scenic drive. Walk a trail. Wander through Waskesiu. Find something good to eat. Sit by the lake longer than you planned. Stay for the sunset.

You don’t need a complicated itinerary. Sometimes getting away is the whole point.

Turns out, a Waskesiu weekend can start in the Broadway District. 🌲🚗

Before heading north from Saskatoon, we stocked up on some road-trip essentials: groceries from Steep Hill Food Co-op, doughnuts from Nutana Bakery, charcuterie goodies from Bulk Cheese Warehouse and non-alcoholic Negronis from Dry Supply.

Then there was a guest appearance from Petra Market for the olives, because we weren’t about to let district boundaries stand between us and a good charcuterie board. 😂

A few favourite Saskatchewan businesses, a drive north and somewhere beautiful to enjoy it all.

From Broadway to Waskesiu, that sounds like a pretty good weekend to us.

Waskesiu is getting a little louder. 🎶🌲

The Waskesiu Lakeside Music Festival is here, which means a weekend full of live music, community, food, activities and all the little things that make summer weekends in Waskesiu so much fun.

Spend the day taking it all in, sneak away to the lake when you need a quiet minute, and then come back and do it all again.

There’s a lot happening in Waskesiu this week. 🌲🎶

The Waskesiu Lakeside Music Festival is almost here, Parks Canada’s summer programming is wrapping up, and Gathering of the Guardians is happening this weekend too.

Add in beach time, a walk through town, a favourite treat, a sunset by the lake and maybe a little time with absolutely nowhere you need to be…and you’ve got a pretty great late-summer weekend.
