Kilmorey Lodge was one of the original buildings built in Waterton Lakes National Park. It opened to the public in the 1926. The Lodge housed 23 unique guest rooms, each decorated with original & antique décor. The Lodge was also home to the Lamp Post Dining Room, winner of countless awards, a lounge and the outdoor gazebo café. In 1933 the Lodge burnt to the ground and was later rebuilt in 1940 in a similar fashion. The cause of the fire was unknown.
The Lodge became a community icon. It was said that the top floor was haunted by a ghost and many visitors from all around the world came to stay in hopes of a ghost sighting. On January 20, 2009 at 4am the Kilmorey Lodge caught fire once again and burned to the ground.
Now rebuilt and reopened as of August 11th, 2022, the Kilmorey Lodge is back adding a modern touch to a historical classic!
