**THE TRIP OF A LIFETIME!** 🐻🫎
Dr. Kirk Johnson from Michigan was our lucky lodge-tag hunter this year, and he was after the ultimate triple threat: wolf, bear, and moose. In just under a week, he successfully harvested two out of the three!
The weather didn’t cooperate the entire trip, but on day one, Coop was able to call in a couple of bull moose. Unfortunately, we never got a good shot. After a few days of rain, Dr. Johnson headed to his bear stand around midday—and just an hour and a half later,
Dr. Johnson harvested this beautiful, massive black bear one that several guests had been pursuing throughout the season.
The next day, they headed back into the woods. Shaking with excitement, Coop and Dr. Johnson could hear a bull moose coming in. Dr. Johnson squared up and made a beautiful shot. Coop did what he does best and got the machine over to the bull.
On the way, he came across another bull and had the opportunity to simply stop and admire its beauty. What an incredible moment!
Unfortunately, Dr. Johnson wasn’t able to harvest a wolf, but he and his wife, Katie, still enjoyed an unforgettable vacation filled with adventure, memories, and plenty of time in the Ontario wilderness.
This trip was especially meaningful for Coop. We all know how much he loves moose hunts, and after his accident, this was the only bull moose hunt he was able to do this year. Having it be with Dr. Johnson and Katie made it even more special.
And guess what? **Coop still has it!** 😉💪
Fun facts:
🫎 Bull moose antlers can grow nearly an inch per day during peak season.
🐻 Despite their size, black bears can run up to approximately 35 miles per hour.
