On the proposed data centre in Point Tupper… We think it could have significant benefits for our region. We have two children who will be entering the workforce shortly, and these jobs may keep them closer to home. We also offer accommodations, and workers will need places to stay.

However, beyond the obvious questions about water quality and availability, power rates and reliability, and noise, what truly bothers us is that it feels as though the project is already moving ahead, with financing announcements and land clearing, before the community has had much of a chance to ask questions.

Moving forward, we look forward to attending community meetings, asking questions and hearing more about the project. What are your thoughts?

As we slowly grow our brand and family business, one of our biggest goals is to showcase the place we love—Isle Madame, Cape Breton.
Our little island off the island of Cape Breton is slowly being discovered. Some would say we should keep it a secret… but we’d love to share it with you, one photo and video at a time.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be adding to our website, sharing more of our favourite places and things to do. Beyond the beaches, ocean views and salty air, there’s plenty to discover here!
