It all began with a bet, a bold promise that would transform St. Moritz and redefine winter tourism.

On 29 July 1896 , the Palace Hotel officially opened its doors, beginning 130 years of visionary hospitality and unforgettable stories.

The Palace continued to evolve through the decades: Chesa Veglia was acquired in 1935–1936 and transformed into a rustic dining destination; the Serlas Wing opened in 2022, introducing three residences and 22 suites designed by Antonio Citterio; and in 2024, the new outdoor pool opened.

What began as a simple wager became a global legacy.

130 years of history. And the legend continues.

A Taste of St. Moritz.

On Sunday, 2 August 2026, the Via Serlas Sommerfest returns to St. Moritz's most elegant and atmospheric street. An afternoon dedicated to gourmet cuisine, where our distinguished partners present a curated selection of signature dishes along the iconic Via Serlas.

Live music and refined performances accompany the experience throughout the day, alongside bespoke beverage stations, a dedicated Kid's Zone by the Badrutt's Palace Palazzino Kids Club, and a complimentary glass of Champagne to set the tone for the occasion.
