Sometimes, the most meaningful measure of success is what we leave behind.
What began as a charity gala hosted by Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort has become something far more lasting: a new school in Southwest Sumba, Indonesia.
Led by Jean-Pierre Joncas, General Manager of Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort and Stelliers Asia 2026 General Manager of the Year, the hotel’s inaugural charity gala raised IDR 500 million in support of Bali Life Foundation. The funds helped create a school for children in the Tambolaka community, complete with two classrooms, running water, and proper sanitation facilities.
During a recent visit, Stelliers Co-founder Stephane DeMontgros and his life partner Ellen Wu, an Impact Investor and founder of Resilient Solution Hub, saw firsthand the hope, energy, and opportunity that this initiative has created for local children and their families.
Now, the story continues.
On Friday, 11 December, Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort will host its 2nd Annual Charity Dinner, An Evening of Purpose & Possibility, with 100% of proceeds supporting Bali Life Foundation and its work with vulnerable children, women, and families.
