Casa Nini is run non-profit
Whenever we have a booking this is what we do . Last Sunday 20 children on our terrace receiving a much-needed meal . We also have a wonderful family who stayed with us 2 years ago who keep helping us to keep going with helping these children . The same support from a woman who used to stay with us every year . But we need more help to keep going . Bookings are few and far between now at Casa Nini . This weekend we celebrated Cuba”s traditional Dia de los Niños (Children’s Day) at Casa Nini .

As most of you already know - we have for some time been running Casa Nini as a non-profit ; Any profit that we might gain through a booking , is spent helping people in the neighborhood.

There’s a lot of vulnerable children in and around our street so what we do is serve meals on our roof top . Not buying stuff that can be sold or delivering food that can be eaten by others . But food directly in their bellies with us present .

This is not only thanks to “profit” which is nothing or very little these days, but thanks to a handful of friends and previous clients of casa Nini who help us keeping this going . From the bottom of my heart and on behalf of the children: muchas gracias , thank you, tusen takk . Also thanks to my dear Fancoice Perez Diaz who has the biggest heart and without her none of this would be possible

Normally meals served are nutritional and filling , but children also need joy , so this week because of it being Dia de los Niños , there was cakes , sandwiches , sweets and even a small bag for everyone to take home . We had two settings , one for the bigger children and one for the little ones . In this way , we brought at least for a few moments a bit of joy to everyone at this difficult time . They deserve so much more .
