Green(er) Blue(er) Bright(er) Together ... from Monaco!
On 15 and 16 June, members of the Beyond Plastic Med - BeMed Business Club gathered at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort for two days of collaboration and knowledge sharing. The workshop aimed to officially launch the new pilot project on industrial and commercial plastic packaging, continue the discussions on plastic footprint assessment, draw lessons from the retail pilot project and the hotel training course.
It was our true privilege to represent in the 1-year "Towards a Single Use Plastic Hotel" training, alongside passionate changemakers from across the Mediterranean. Poseidonia Beach Hotel - Cyprus and the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel in Monaco shared through live testimonies the highlights, achievements and lessons learned from their training course.
Cyprus, as an island nation that sells "sun and sea" as its main attraction, we have a unique responsibility—and opportunity—to lead by example.
The Mediterranean is a natural plastic trap, encircled by three highly populated continents. Yet, being at the heart of it means we can be at the forefront of the solution. This training has equipped us with the tools to turn that potential into action.
