The “Zero Waste HoReCa Champions Awards 2026” ceremony was successfully held on 4 June 2026, under the auspices of the Υφυπουργείο Τουρισμού - Deputy Ministry of Tourism, Mr. Kostas Koumi. For the fourth consecutive year, the awards recognised Cypriot tourism businesses that, through the practices they adopt, make the Hospitality and Food Service sector more resilient, and innovative. ✨A magical evening for a meaningful cause ✨

Our Green Committee at Poseidonia Beach Hotel was honored to take part in Earth Hour on Saturday night. We switched off all non-essential lighting in the lobby and bar for one hour, hosting an intimate candlelight live music performance that turned out to be pure magic 🕯️

is a global reminder that collective action -no matter how small- can create a massive impact for our planet.

Thank you to our guests for embracing the glow with us.

Here is to making a priority every day.

As part of our "Tell me in 60" initiative, our took a closer look at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Cortina. 🌍⛷️

While we are excited about the spirit of the Games, our discussion highlighted a stark reality with a comparative overview of the games in the span of 70 years: climate change is impacting its future, with rising temperatures and increasingly unreliable snow conditions that threaten the very foundation of winter sports.

This led us to a fascinating—and troubling—paradox of sponsorship coherence. We find it difficult to overlook the fact that the main sponsor for an event so dependent on a cold, stable climate is ENI, a major fuel company.

We understand that every major event needs sponsors to survive. However, and matter. When the mission of an event (celebrating winter sports) clashes with the core business of its biggest backer (fossil fuels), it puts credibility at risk.

Let’s advocate for partnerships that reflect the future we actually want to see. 🤝💚

What happens when art, sustainability, education and circular economy come together?

You get a powerful reminder that is just a resource we haven't yet.

Our "Explore the Doors" project traveled to 2 weeks ago and took part in 🌏The European Conference on Sustainable Tourism celebrating 20 Years of Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Initiative CSTI). They stood proud at the entrance of the Filoxenia CONFERENCE CENTER and welcomed more than 300 participants and experts from Europe and around the world with two EU Commissioners among the speakers.

"Explore the Doors" is simple, but deeply symbolic:
🚪 Old guest room doors, destined for disposal, were repurposed
🎨 They were transformed into artistic canvases
🌏 Each door now represents one of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

Instead of contributing to construction waste, the Poseidonia Beach Hotelturned these discarded items into a visual communication tool. It allows guests to discover the 2030 Agenda in a tangible, engaging way, simply by walking through the hotel 🌱

Well done to our for once again being and thinking as if there is No Box!

Thank you Olga Shuvalova for creating this video and showcasing how creative can turn everyday materials into strong sustainable messages.

"Season to Grow"
Where Spices Once Lived, Now Life Begins 🌱

Meet the newest project of our : a collection of salt and pepper shakers that have taken a long and winding road to get here.

🍴The Journey:
For years, these shakers lived on the tables of our restaurant, witnesses to countless meals, celebrations, and conversations. But over time, breakage happens. And when you’re missing a partner, a "set" is no longer complete.

Two years ago, rather than sending them to a landfill, we gave them a pause. They were placed in storage—still in perfect condition, just waiting for a new purpose 💭

✨The Transformation:
Today, they’ve been reclaimed.

In the spirit of creativity and sustainability, our team looked at these orphaned objects and saw potential, not waste. By simply turning them upside down, they transformed from discarded dishware into single herb vases.

♻️The Message:
This project is small in scale, but big in meaning. It’s a reminder that "waste" is often just a resource we haven't learned to reuse yet.

"Where spices once lived, now life begins."
A little soil, a seed, and some water—and soon, fresh herbs will be growing from what was once just a container.

Here’s to upcycling, thinking sideways (or in this case, upside down), and always finding a way to grow🌱
