Το Παλαιχώρι αποτελεί συγκοινωνιακό κόμβο μεταξύ Λευκωσίας-Λεμεσού καθώς βρίσκεται στα σύνορα των δύο πόλεων, (στη γεωγραφική περιφέρεια της Πιτσιλιάς, 46 χιλιόμετρα μακριά από την πρωτεύουσα 10 χιλιόμετρα πριν την κορυφή της Παπούτσας και 45 χιλιόμετρα μακριά από την Λεμεσό), αλλά διοικητικά ανήκει στην επαρχία Λευκωσίας. Είναι κτισμένο αμφιθεατρικά ανάμεσα σε ψηλά βουνά σε υψόμετρο 930 μέτρων. Ο ποταμός Σερράχης, ξεκινώντας από την κορυφή της Παπούτσας, χωρίζει το χωριό στα δύο. Έχει γύρω στους 1200 κατοίκους και είναι από τα πιο ενδιαφέροντα ορεινά χωριά της Κύπρου, διατηρώντας τον παραδοσιακό του χαρακτήρα, χωμένο σε ένα καταπράσινο περιβάλλον, πλημμυρίζοντας από Ιστορία.
