Why is Dresden our favourite destination this week? In 2026, the hostel was awarded the ‘GÄSTELIEBLING’ prize by the Saxony State Tourism Association, recognising its exceptionally high guest satisfaction and outstanding hospitality. 🏆

With 478 beds, it is the largest youth hostel in Saxony and scores highly, above all, for its central location: the historic old town is within easy walking distance. The rooms also have some special features: all rooms have an en-suite bathroom with shower and toilet, including towels. Instead of bunk beds, you’ll find comfortable, pre-made single or double beds. 🛏️✨

The youth hostel is situated on the eastern outskirts of Germany’s oldest North Sea spa town, right next to the harbour and the Wadden Sea, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. 🌊

14 kilometres of sandy beach beckon to young sandcastle builders and dreamers of all ages alike. Families can stay in comfort in shared rooms or cosy apartments, whilst outside there’s a range of leisure activities that could hardly be more extensive: dune mini-golf, a family thalasso spa with a giant slide, and plenty of space to run about. 🏖️
