A culinary and musical powerhouse has emerged in the heart of downtown Copenhagen, uniting Denmark’s gastronomic elite with jazz royalty. Lars Seier Christensen, co-owner of the three-Michelin-starred Geranium (World’s Best Restaurant 2022) and two-Michelin-starred Alchemist, has joined forces with Mads Bøttger of the one-Michelin-starred Dragsholm Castle Gourmet. Together, they have partnered wit

h Sir Niels Lan Doky, the knighted jazz pianist, composer, and producer celebrated for his extraordinary improvisations and collaborations with global luminaries. Completing this exceptional team is Rasmus Shepherd-Lomborg, a visionary Danish bar entrepreneur who, alongside his Scottish wife Adeline, founded Ruby in 2007—a groundbreaking cocktail bar that sparked Copenhagen’s cocktail renaissance and has been featured six times on the prestigious World’s 50 Best Bars list. Named after the ancient Greek philosopher Epicurus, this collaboration promises an extraordinary fusion of culinary artistry, mixology mastery, interior design, and jazz virtuosity. Epicurus championed the pursuit of happiness through pleasure—defined as the absence of pain and fear—while emphasizing meaningful friendships, philosophical reflection, and the enriching role of food and culture in a fulfilling life. Guests will experience a multisensory journey that embodies the Epicurean ideals of refined pleasure and cultural enrichment, where exquisite food, innovative cocktails, and world-class jazz converge to create an unparalleled environment for connection, inspiration, and joy. At Epicurus, we aim to reinvent and redefine the jazz standard repertoire, which has remained largely unchanged for more than half a century. All our music will feature exclusive projects curated and produced by Sir Niels Lan Doky, offering unique presentations that cannot be experienced anywhere else. These performances will showcase internationally acclaimed musicians, blending original compositions with innovative interpretations of jazz classics – and even transforming contemporary pop hits into future jazz standards. The cocktails at Epicurus are as transformative as its music program. Led by former Alchemist head bartender Michael Hajiyianni, the international team employs cutting-edge techniques to craft a modern cocktail experience. Each drink showcases exceptional ingredients in innovative contexts, blending avant-garde creativity with comforting familiarity. Beyond cocktails, Epicurus’ exclusive access to the world’s finest wines and Champagnes redefines the guest experience and elevates the sensory adventure to new heights. The restaurant at Epicurus celebrates life’s pleasures through exceptional cuisine and shared experiences. Its undogmatic Nordic cuisine, inspired by French traditions, features refined, honest dishes crafted from seasonal produce sourced from Dragsholm Castle and its surroundings. Guests are welcomed with warm hospitality in a relaxed yet elegant setting, enhanced by world-class jazz and innovative mixology—a gastronomic journey that fosters togetherness and highlights the joy of fresh, balanced flavors. The interior of Epicurus is expertly crafted by the renowned design duo GamFratesi, whose mastery of materials and attention to detail define this exceptional space. With carefully selected materials and natural textures, the design emphasizes sophistication and comfort. More than just a venue, Epicurus creates an intimate environment that fosters a harmonious connection between people and their surroundings.

Some songs are so familiar, you think you know exactly where they’re going.
And then jazz gets involved. 🎹✨

Here’s Wonderwall by Oasis, reimagined live at Epicurus by Niels Lan Doky, François Moutin, and Paul Wertico.

Same melody. Completely different journey.

Pop Hits Reimagined is now entering its final week, with the last performance this Saturday, September 12.

A tribute to Prince, told from both sides of the curtain. 💜

On stage, Shelby J. spent nearly a decade alongside Prince, bringing her unmistakable voice and energy to the New Power Generation.

Away from the stage, Ray and Juell Roberts knew a different side of him - cooking for Prince at Paisley Park, at home, in the studio, and everywhere life took him.

This September, those worlds come together at Epicurus.

Shelby brings the music. Ray and Juell bring the food and the stories.

Four very special evenings, September 16-19.

Some spaces look beautiful. Others make you want to stay. ✨

Designed by Copenhagen-based studio GamFratesi, the interiors at Epicurus were created to shape the feeling of the evening - intimate without feeling formal, warm without losing its edge.

Low light. Rich materials. Quiet corners. Spaces that change character as dinner becomes jazz, cocktails become conversation, and one drink occasionally becomes another.

Because atmosphere isn’t something you add to a room. It’s something you build into it. And that invites.

Miles Davis. Madonna. Sting. The Rolling Stones.

Not a bad career playlist. 🎸🔥

This October, Darryl Jones returns to Epicurus for an evening built around the extraordinary musical journey he’s actually lived.

Together with Robert Irving III and Toby Williams, Darryl will revisit music connected to the artists and eras that shaped his career - from the electric world of Miles Davis to Madonna, Sting, The Rolling Stones, and beyond.

And, naturally, there will be stories along the way.

October 21 - November 7.

Some people don’t just perform in a room. They change the energy of it. 💜

Shelby J. is one of those people.

After two unforgettable runs at Epicurus, she’s coming back - bringing that unmistakable voice, warmth, and energy with her.

From soul and funk to R&B, pop, and jazz, Shelby returns alongside Ken Linh Doky, Felix Pastorius, and Jacob Hatholt for Soul Classics Reimagined.

September 16 - October 10.

We’ve missed this energy.

Three ingredients. Quite a lot going on. 🐟✨

Sea bass, cucumber, and blackcurrant oil.

Head Chef Xavier Fays pickles the cucumber with blackcurrant leaf, bringing acidity and a subtle aromatic note to the delicate sea bass, before finishing the dish with blackcurrant oil.

Clean, fresh, and a little unexpected.

You know those dinners where nobody really wants to be the first to leave? 🥂

The plates are mostly empty, the conversation has moved through about seventeen different subjects, and somehow someone is ordering another round.

We like those dinners.

Come hungry. Stay longer than planned.

You know the songs. Next week, we change the rules. 🎹✨

Pop Hits Reimagined arrives at Epicurus with Niels Lan Doky, François Moutin, and seven-time Grammy winner Paul Wertico.

From Madonna to Billie Eilish and beyond, familiar pop hits are taken apart and put back together through improvisation, groove, and jazz.

The melodies you know. Just not quite as you know them.

Starting September 2.

Sweet. Sharp. Spicy. Gone in a few bites ✨

Head Chef Xavier Fays layers finely sliced fig over chutoro tuna, white soy, and calamansi. Then finishes it with a few drops of spicy ‘nduja fat.
Sweet, bright, rich, and spicy all at once. Blink and it’s gone.

On the menu now. Link in bio to book.
