LA CASA REVELADA 🏡✨

Este 24 de octubre, Casa Santa Clara abre sus puertas como parte de quitodesignweek.

Los invitamos a recorrer una casa del siglo XIX y descubrir de cerca su proceso de restauración, arquitectura y diseño. Ganadora del Premio Ornato 2023, Casa Santa Clara es el resultado de una restauración que parte de la materialidad y las huellas de la casa original para adaptarla a un nuevo uso.

💡 LO QUE NECESITAS SABER:

• Fecha: Sábado 24 de octubre
• Horarios: Los recorridos serán entre 11h00 y 16h00
• Entrada libre, con inscripción previa
• Los cupos son limitados.
• Al inscribirte podrás elegir el horario de tu visita
• La inscripción es individual: cada persona que asista debe completar el formulario

⛪️ CHURCH OF SAN AGUSTÍN

Often overlooked in favor of Quito’s larger churches, San Agustín is one of our favorite stops in the Historic Center. Step inside for its beautiful painted interiors and a quieter side of Quito’s religious architecture.

🌹 THE MONASTERY OF SANTA CLARA

The monastery across the plaza from our house is normally closed to the public. Thanks to our partnership with the Monastery and Museo Casa del Alabado, we offer a tour of the secret jewels hidden inside, including a jaw dropping view of Panecillo and beyond.

☕️ CAFETERIA MODELO

A city institution since 1950. Known for its ice cream, traditional ponche and its famous seco de chivo, still a favorite in many quiteño’s hearts.

👑 CAPILLA DE CANTUÑA

Tucked inside the San Francisco complex, this small chapel is easy to miss and isn’t open to visitors every day. If you happen to find its doors open, don’t miss the chance to step inside.

A house that still carries its history.

Built around 1830, Casa Santa Clara retains much of its original materiality: stone and brick walls, timber beams and columns, and the textures left by nearly two centuries of life.

During its restoration, these elements were preserved rather than concealed, allowing the old house to remain present within its contemporary architecture.

Because a sense of place begins with what was already here. The materials, the craftsmanship, the imperfections, and the unmistakable character of Quito’s Historic Center.
