Ayer la Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche acogió la primera Jornada de Gastronomía Sostenible impulsada por la Agencia Destino Huelva, un encuentro para fortalecer la conexión entre productores, hosteleros y territorio, poniendo en valor el producto local como motor de desarrollo turístico y económico. Desgraciadamente, nosotros no pudimos asistir.

Nos habría gustado estar allí, especialmente para el emotivo homenaje a Luis Miguel ‘Luismi’ López y Adela Ortiz, alma del Restaurante Arrieros, referentes de la cocina serrana y ejemplo de cómo tradición, identidad y sostenibilidad pueden ir de la mano.

A finales de este mes el afamado Restaurante Arrieros cierra sus puertas. Tuvimos el placer de reservar una mesa hace un par de semanas para poder disfrutar, una última vez, de sus fabulosos y originales platos. ¡Cómo vamos a echar de menos ese emblemático gazpacho de fresas o su poleá!

Gracias, Luismi y Adela, por haber estado siempre ahí, al pie del cañón. Ver a nuestros huéspedes volver a la Posada con la satisfacción de haber experimentado algo tan sublime y especial en una zona "tan rural" va a ser muy difícil de superar. Os deseamos lo mejor en esta nueva etapa.

Yesterday, the Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche hosted the first Sustainable Gastronomy Conference promoted by the Destino Huelva Agency, a gathering to strengthen the connection between producers, hoteliers, and the land, highlighting local produce as a driver for tourism and economic development. Unfortunately, we were unable to attend.

We would have loved to have been there, especially for the moving tribute to Luis Miguel ‘Luismi’ López and Adela Ortiz, the soul of Restaurante Arrieros, benchmarks of mountain cuisine and a prime example of how tradition, identity, and sustainability can go hand in hand.

At the end of this month, the famous Restaurante Arrieros will close its doors. We had the pleasure of booking a table a couple of weeks ago to enjoy their fabulous and original dishes one last time. How we are going to miss that iconic strawberry gazpacho and their poleá!

Thank you, Luismi and Adela, for always being there, right at the forefront. Seeing our guests return to the Posada with the satisfaction of having experienced something so sublime and special in such a rural area is going to be very hard to top. We wish you both the very best in your next chapter.
