Summer is busy. October is for you.
Barcelona in October feels different. The beach crowds are gone, tables free up, and the city goes back to its own pace. Locals say the best month is the one nobody tells you about.
Some one tips from is:
The sun still shows up. Mornings are golden, the terraces still open, and a jacket is usually enough. Take the long way home, because the light on the façadas is at its best at this time of year.
And when it rains, don't cancel the rain. Find a counter in a market, order a vermut or a hot chocolate, and wait it out like everyone else. Half the charm of an autumn day is the plan B.
Take a long day out. Rent a car or hop on a regional train and ahead into the vineyards, like Penedés, Alella or further to Priorat. The vines turn gold and red, lunch lasts three hours, nobody is rushing you. Book your tasting ahead and plan a driver or the train to home.
You don't need to see everything. October is for staying a little longer and doing a little less.
