Inaugurado en 1859, fue decorado posteriormente por el célebre arquitecto Modernista Lluís Domènech i Montaner. El hotel siempre ha sido considerado una pequeña joya del Modernism

o en Barcelona. Totalmente rehabilitado en 2010 combina un moderno interiorismo con el clasicismo del edificio del siglo XIX. El servicio de restauración del hotel está a cargo del chef Martín Berasategui.

In Greek mythology, the Nereids were sea nymphs, symbols of the beauty and serenity of the Mediterranean. They were also believed to protect sailors and travelers, guiding them safely through their journeys.

At Hotel España, they found another place to live.🌊

Ramon Casas brought these mythological figures into the Sirens Room, where they have watched over generations of travelers, conversations and encounters in Barcelona.

More than a century later, they’re still here.

During Barcelona’s 1888 Universal Exposition, as the city opened itself to the world and emerged as a major European capital, Hotel España became a meeting point for its social and cultural life.

Politicians, artists, businesspeople and travelers crossed paths within its walls. More than a hotel, it was a place where Barcelona met, exchanged ideas and moved forward.
