Sometimes life writes a story you never expected to tell.
Last Friday we were forced to evacuate Malaga Hills because of the devastating wildfire near Cómpeta. We left our home, our hotel and our animals behind, not knowing what we would return to.
Fortunately, thanks to the incredible work of the firefighters, police, emergency services, the Municipalities of Cómpeta and Canillas de Albeida, the Junta de Andalucía and so many local people, the story ended well.
But there was one unexpected twist...
Two days later we received the lowest possible Booking.com rating from someone who never stayed at our hotel.
We've decided to tell the whole story—openly and honestly.

A veces la vida escribe una historia que nunca imaginaste tener que contar.
El pasado viernes tuvimos que evacuar Malaga Hills debido al gran incendio forestal cerca de Cómpeta. Dejamos atrás nuestra casa, nuestro hotel y nuestros animales sin saber qué encontraríamos al volver.
Afortunadamente, gracias al extraordinario trabajo de los bomberos, la policía, los servicios de emergencia, los Ayuntamientos de Cómpeta y Canillas de Albeida, la Junta de Andalucía y muchas personas de nuestra comunidad, todo terminó bien.
Pero hubo un giro inesperado...
Dos días después recibimos la puntuación más baja posible en Booking.com de una persona que nunca llegó a alojarse con nosotros.
Hemos decidido contar toda la historia con total transparencia.
