🔥🇪🇸 SUNDAY IN SPAIN: HOT AGAIN — AND LOCALLY EXTREMELY HOT!

How will Sunday be? Well… you can probably guess: hot again! 🔥
September 2026 continues to deliver exceptional heat, particularly across the northern half of mainland Spain. Recent temperatures have already broken records: Logroño reached 40.5°C, around 2.5°C above its previous September record from 7 September 1988, while Lleida climbed to 39.9°C, beating its previous record from 5 September 2016 by 2.7°C.
🌡️ And today could bring another round of exceptional temperatures.
According to our ARPEGE forecast, much of inland Spain will once again experience 35–40°C, with some particularly impressive values expected: Sevilla around 41°C, Lleida 40°C, Badajoz, Córdoba and Tortosa around 39°C, Zaragoza and Jaén 38°C, and Madrid around 36°C. Lleida could therefore cross the 40°C mark and potentially set another record. 🔥
☀️ More sunshine than yesterday
For many regions, Sunday should be sunnier, although some Saharan dust will remain in the atmosphere. The more noticeable calima today will be across the Canary Islands, where Saharan dust could significantly reduce visibility and give the sky its characteristic hazy appearance.
🏖️ The coast is the place to be!
Anyone able to escape the inland heat may want to head towards the sea. Temperatures are considerably more comfortable in several coastal areas: around 22°C in A Coruña, 24°C in Vigo, 25°C in Almería and Tarifa, 28°C in Benidorm and Málaga, and 29°C in Cádiz. 🌊
The Mediterranean coast is warmer, with 31°C in Barcelona, 36°C in Valencia and Palma, and as much as 37°C around Girona.
😎 For many coastal holiday regions, however, this is shaping up to be a fantastic September beach day — plenty of sunshine, warm weather and the Mediterranean or Atlantic right beside you. ☀️🌴🌊
