La suite més imponent i majestuosa de Palau dels Alemanys.

Al segle XIV, aquest espai va ser concebut per a les figures més poderoses del seu temps: bisbes i inquisidors que passaven per la ciutat de Girona.

Tota la seva estructura és original del segle XIV: els arcs gòtics, les proporcions de l’espai i, sobretot, l’impressionant sostre que s’alça sobre el llit.

Construït i pintat a mà fa més de 600 anys, aquest sostre històric va ser reforçat en el seu moment per sostenir les plantes superiors. Avui, completament restaurat, continua sent l’ànima de l’estada.

Durant segles, El Tinell va ser la suite principal del palau. Un espai reservat únicament per a qui ostentava el màxim poder espiritual i polític de la seva època.

Avui, la història pot ser teva per una nit.

Projectil de catapulta del segle XIII, trobat a l’interior del tram de muralla privada del Palau dels Alemanys.
Pertany a la guerra de 1285 entre el Papa romà i el rei de la Corona d’Aragó, Pere III. El projectil formava part de l’exèrcit papal, ja que el material amb què està elaborat era especialment costós en aquella època.

13th-century catapult projectile, discovered inside the private section of the Palau dels Alemanys’ city wall.
It dates back to the War of 1285 between the Roman Pope and King Peter III of the Crown of Aragon. The projectile belonged to the papal army, as the material used to produce it was particularly expensive at the time.
