Madrid’s outdoor municipal swimming pools are officially open until September 7. When the summer heat hits the capital, there is no better place to cool down, sunbathe on the grass, and relax with friends. Here is everything you need to know before you go.

SHIFTS & OPENING HOURS
Morning Pass: 10:00 to 15:00
Afternoon Pass: 16:00 to 21:00
Full Day Pass: 10:00 to 21:00

TICKET PRICES & BOOKING
Tickets must be purchased online via DeportesWeb or through the official Madrid Movil app (available on Google Play and Apple Store).

Young people (15 to 26): 1.80 euros per shift / 3.60 euros full day
Adults (27 to 64): 2.25 euros per shift / 4.50 euros full day
Under 5s: Free entry
(Note: 20 percent of tickets are reserved at the ticket office on the day for over-65s and people with disabilities).

Here is the secret to securing your spot on hot weekends: online ticket reservations open exactly 49 hours before the session begins. Tickets fly fast, so we strongly recommend setting an alarm on your phone exactly 49 hours in advance to guarantee your entry. Once at the pool, if you opt for the full day, you will receive a bracelet that must be worn at all times.

The ultimate way to beat the summer heat is back this Sunday, July 19. Thousands of people are about to fill the streets of Puente de Vallecas for the famous Batalla Naval de Vallekas, turning the neighborhood into a massive, refreshing water fight.

The Main Event
Organized by the Cofradía Marinera de Vallekas, this year’s 44th edition takes place on Sunday, July 19, from 16:30h to 19:30h. This joyous community party and protest takes over the Bulevar de la calle Peña Gorbea and moves toward Calle Payaso Fofó. Expect music, official water trucks, and refreshing summer chaos.

Rules of the Battle
To keep the event fun and safe for the entire crowd, make sure to follow the essential event guidelines:

Bring your own gear: Pack a water gun, bucket, or plastic jug to refill directly from the official water trucks.

No water balloons: Organizers strictly prohibit them, as they can cause injury when thrown into large crowds.

No glass: For safety reasons, glass containers are never allowed inside the battle zone.
