Today marks 12 years since we signed the papers at the notary and became the owners of our house in Spain.
Back in 2014, we stood in front of a building full of possibilities. We bought a shell with a dream: to create our home and a place where guests could enjoy the peace, nature and beauty of this special corner of Spain.
Twelve years later, Can Elisa is still our home — and a place where we’ve welcomed guests from all over the world. We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who has been part of our journey: for your trust, your kind words, your smiles and all the wonderful memories. ❤️
And this is definitely not the end. We’re so happy with where we are today and look forward to many more years of Can Elisa, welcoming guests and continuing to build our little dream here in Spain. 🥂

PS: Can Elisa has a special meaning to us. “Can” means house or home in Valencian, while “Elisa” is a tribute to Jasper’s mother, Els, who sadly passed away far too young. Today would have been her birthday, so every year on 17 September, we celebrate Can Elisa and remember Els with love. ❤️
PS 2: We really did start with just a shell — exterior walls and a roof, with no windows, doors, interior walls, water or electricity. What was once one large open garage is now our two guest casitas, Almendra & Oliva. 🏡
