The word Alaya comes from Sanskrit meaning “base or home“. Our retreat center is a magical and i The sea can be seen from the hills 1-2 kms behind the house.

The 150 year old, recently renovated wine farm (750 sq meters in total) is surrounded by 2,5 hectares of vineyards and a large garden with fruit trees, olive and almond trees. The house is located close to Sant Marti Sarroca, near Vilafranca in the wine (Cava) region “the Penedes”. The house is about 18 km from the beaches in Vilanova and Sitges. The house consists of 4 separate dwellings that can

be rented together or apart. The beautiful 4×12 meter swimming pool is located at the far end of the garden between the fruit and palm trees. There is a recently installed small “wellness centre” with a whirlpool bath and a sauna near the swimming pool area. We also have a separate yoga room with under floor heating (for 12-14 people) and there are regular yoga sessions which you can attend. The masia also lends itself well for group outings like workshops or courses. In addition the masia is available for one-day company or group events, product presentations, end of year events including lunch or dinner. Please contact us for more information. We have very friendly dogs, cats and ducks on the premises and guests are welcome to bring their own pets as well. Our beautiful Masia consist of the main building and 3 smaller ‘casas’. As we are in the beautiful Penedés region we named our houses to the various grapes planted around our Masia.

Last weekend, we had the privilege of welcoming Anam to our Healing with Horses Retreat at Alaya Retreat Centre.

One of the most beautiful aspects of this work is witnessing people from different countries, cultures, backgrounds, and belief systems come together through a shared desire for healing, self-discovery, and authentic connection.

Our horses don’t care where you come from, what language you speak, or what beliefs you hold. They meet each person exactly as they are—with honesty, presence, and unconditional acceptance.
