Things got a bit rough in the Omo this weekend. Exceptional rain meant that many vehicles were stuck.
This was not the case of the specially converted Land Cruisers from Ethiopian Adventures. They have specially reinforced suspension and improved shock absorbers and they were just about the only vehicles still running. All our vehicles are brand new and this particular vehicle has a turbocharged V8 engine that made sure it got through the rivers and streams.

Ethiopian Adventures are now organising special trips to Sudan.
Visit with us the pyramids or Maroe and Karima, the tombs of Old Dongola, the ancient city of Kerma, the temple of Soleb and much more.
All the time we follow the Nile from Khartoum almost to the Egyptian border.
Although Sudan is beginning to open up to tourists, it is still by invitation only. It is not yet a country where travel is easy.

It is an unusual Easter in the Simiens. The Lodge should be full this weekend but instead, only the guards are on duty. For the past three weeks, we have asked all our staff to stay safe at home. We are not laying off and we are giving them our full support. The park is also closed for now and the Geladas are probably enjoying having some quiet time! They could also potentially catch Covid-19 so it is best that they are given some space.
These are times to be united, we’ll get through this and we’ll soon be back hiking the Simiens.
