We opened Lodge du Chateau in 2009 and are still developing our skills and service. Our staff come from the countryside around the Simien Mountians. Most of them helped with the construction of the lodge and it's development. After the building was completed, we employed the best workers by giving them jobs with us including: security guards, housekeeping, waitresses, cooks and receptionists. We a
re continually training the staff and trying to improve their skills and English. We take pride in being a small personal hotel that pays close attention to each guest and their needs. We can help you arrange tours of nearby sites including the castle, Fasilides' Bath and Debre Birhan Selassie Church. We are also happy to assist you in planning and organizing trips to the Simien Mountains, Bahir Dar and other sites throughout Ethiopia. As our Lodge continues to grow, we have had the privilege of hosting several notable guests including the American Ambassador to Ethiopia and other high level foreign government employees as well as Ethiopia's very own Nunu Wako. We also have many guests who choose to stay at the Lodge continuously every year including the Corvallis Sister City and Vincennes Sister City volunteers, professionals staying for long term work (including doctors, nurses and ophthalmologists). Our staff have been trained by a Peace Corps Health Volunteer in hygiene and sanitation, safe cooking practices, hospitality management and room cleanliness.
