Its great to see the little boo-hoo high up on a perch at the top of the tree finally. You can't get much higher now and he still watches us too. He's a good 10 meters higher than this morning. Glad we helped him out even just a little.

Day three of Owl gate. This morning mum is high in the acacia tree watching over the area.. a quick search found baby on the branches 8-10ft higher than yesterday when we checked on him. Mum not so worried everytime we go to check now as yesterday baby got swordfish for a snack. Not ideal but he took it straight away.

Update on owly, or boo-hoo which is its temp name. So this morning he was back out of the tree on the floor shoved into a wood pile. I gently picked him up, mum watching on as always. Tried to pop him on a branch in the tree I think his nest was in. Nope he jumped down and straight onto my hand where he stayed. Eyes wide open and almost with a happy feel to them he stayed tight gripped on my hand. I think I have gained some trust from baby but mum's apprehensive

Busy as always here, today no exception of course. After fixing the field after the horses got out we were walking back to the house only to stumble across some of the local nature. Being surrounded by it you'd expect it but not this. We came across a baby tawny owl on the ground, whilst mum amd dad watched on anxiously baby was safely returned to the safety of the branches of a grand old oak.

Its all good at the manor once again with Woody Allen our new crazy wood chipper. The walls look bare after pulling all the honeysuckle off but its all work that needs to be done. Loving the warm days too, welcome back springtime
