A beautiful walk around the Mont de Blond. 10 minutes drive from our Gîte. The Blond mountains cover a 10km area and tower to altitudes of over 500 metres above the surrounding villages. There are more than 50 km of marked trails to walk, cycle or enjoy on horseback through stunning forested hillsides and stone paths, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

What a great afternoon discovering the fascinating history of Magnac-Laval, thanks to the wonderful local Tiers-Lieu and their guided historic walk.

We spent the afternoon exploring some of the town's most interesting landmarks, including the old college (Le Vieux Collège), the war memorial (Le Monument aux Morts), the site of the former château, the traditional washhouse (Le Lavoir), and the former courthouse (L'Ancien Tribunal).

It's amazing how much history can be found tucked away in the streets of this charming Limousin town. Whether you're interested in local heritage, French history, architecture, or simply enjoy wandering through beautiful French villages, Magnac Laval is well worth a visit.

A wonderful way to spend a day discovering the stories behind the buildings and places that have shaped the town over the centuries.

What a fantastic way to celebrate a birthday! ☀️🥂🐎

A beautiful day at the races in Le Dorat, sunshine, picnic, good friends, birthday celebrations, horse races, plenty of winnings and the joy of receiving another fantastic 10/10 guest review!

☀️ It’s Friday, and life in rural France feels absolutely perfect! Our current guests have swapped our riverside location to enjoy their meal at The Mill Restaurant/bar, on the banks of the Gartempe River.

We’re taking a moment of R &R before preparing for the arrival of our next visitors, who will be greeted by the amazing sunny weather and these breathtaking surroundings next week. 🌿

Enjoying and celebrating the re-opening of Le Pont, the riverside gem in Bellac. A perfect spot just 10 minutes from our Gîte, with stunning views, great service, fantastic food and an incredible atmosphere.

A perfect Sunday in Berneuil 🌼

Today’s community walk brought together locals and visitors alike for a beautiful 7 or 13 km walk through the surrounding countryside. Walkers enjoyed nature trails passing golden fields of rapeseed in full bloom, peaceful riverside paths, and curious cattle along the way.

The route passes by and is a beautiful walk for guests to enjoy. 🚶‍♂️🌻🌳

Un dimanche parfait à Berneuil 🌼

La randonnée communautaire d'aujourd'hui a réuni habitants et visiteurs pour une magnifique balade de 7 ou 13 km à travers la campagne environnante. Les participants ont profité de sentiers nature traversant des champs de colza dorés en pleine floraison, des chemins paisibles le long de la rivière et ont croisé des vaches curieuses.

Le parcours passe devant le GiteDuMoulinToucan et offre une belle promenade à ses hôtes.🌳🌻🚶‍♀️
