We’ve popped over to the UK for a couple of days to visit The Glamping Show —having a look at what’s new, catching up with suppliers and gathering ideas as we start planning for 2027.

It’s always good to step away from the day-to-day running of La Prairie Étoilée and spend a little time thinking about what comes next. We’re heading home with plenty of ideas, a few new contacts and lots to chat through on the journey back to France…

Fabulous picture taken last night on the meander back to the tent after the table d’hôtes by one of our guests! What a great shot - especially after a glass or two of delicious local wine with dinner! 🥂⭐️🌜

September. Still summer, but after the heat of July and August, September usually brings the kind of days that make getting out and about a little more tempting.

Take a tandem and see where the lanes lead. Walk a stretch of one of the many trails. Pick up something good at a local market. Paddle slowly down the Creuse. Stop for lunch. Take a wrong turn and discover somewhere you didn’t know was there.

Or do one thing and spend the rest of the day doing very little.

There’s plenty to see and do around here for when you want to explore and get out into nature — and September is a lovely time to do it.

Then it’s back to the meadow, feet up, something cold to drink and an earlier appearance from the stars.

It’s been a long, hot summer here, with little rain much of the meadow is dry, golden grasses swaying in the occasional breeze and looking rather more Arizona than rural Berry! 🌾

But the big old oak trees are still giving us some welcome greenery — and, if you look closely, their acorns are beginning to grow.

A small sign of the seasons quietly changing, even while summer still has a firm hold on the meadow. 🌳
