🐾 A first for us at Le Gîte du Bois Renard...

Glenn came to stay with his girlfriend Mäel and a group of their friends, and they loved the place so much that 8 of them left with matching tattoos of our courtyard alleyway! 😲😍

We're not saying every guest needs to go that far... but the bar has officially been set. 😂

Thank you to this brilliant group for the laughs, the memories, and now the permanent souvenirs. Come see what all the fuss (and ink) is about. ❤️

🐾 Une première pour nous au Gîte du Bois Renard...

Mon fils Glenn est venu séjourner avec sa copine Mäel et un groupe d'amis, et ils ont tellement aimé l'endroit que 8 d'entre eux sont repartis avec un tatouage assorti de notre allée-cour ! 😲😍

On ne dit pas que chaque invité doit aller aussi loin... mais la barre est désormais placée haut. 😂

Merci à ce super groupe pour les rires, les souvenirs, et maintenant les souvenirs permanents. Venez voir par vous-mêmes ce qui fait tout ce bruit (et cette encre). ❤️

Our guests from Brittany this week knew how to enjoy themselves, and they loved our brassero to do HUGE T-Bone steaks 🔥🥩. They were massive!

Nos hôtes bretons de cette semaine savaient comment profiter de leur séjour, et ils ont adoré notre brasero pour cuisiner d'énormes côtes de bœuf (T-Bone) 🔥🥩. Elles étaient gigantesques ! 🤤

So... Natasha's project for this winter! Bought from a lovely gentleman who made it for his granddaughters, who have now grown up, and he wanted it to go somewhere children would make the most of it. We hope to restore it to its former glory and put it in our playground for guests next summer! 🚂 🚃

Alors... le projet de Natasha pour cet hiver ! Achetée à un charmant monsieur qui l'avait fabriquée pour ses petites-filles, aujourd'hui devenues grandes, et qui voulait qu'elle aille là où des enfants pourraient vraiment en profiter. Nous espérons la restaurer pour lui redonner toute sa splendeur d'antan et l'installer dans notre aire de jeux pour nos hôtes l'été prochain ! 🚂 🚃

This is why we do it and this is what makes it all worth while! Two wonderful families staying for the last week and on leaving this morning a little gift from Iris and Cora. 🥰😍

C'est pour ça qu'on le fait, et c'est ce qui rend tout ça tellement gratifiant ! Deux familles formidables sont restées avec nous pour la dernière semaine, et en partant ce matin, un petit cadeau de la part d'Iris et Cora. 🥰😍

Watching Belgium in the World Cup while Glenn Crompton reveals his inner Italian chef — homemade dough, focaccias fresh from our wood-fired oven, and pizzas loaded with all the toppings. Not a bad way to spend an evening! 🇧🇪🍕🔥

On regarde la Belgique en Coupe du Monde pendant que Glenn Crompton révèle son côté chef italien — pâte maison, focaccias sorties tout droit de notre four à bois, et pizzas généreusement garnies. Il y a des soirées qui se passent vraiment bien ! 🇧🇪🍕🔥

Amaury and Théo chose to celebrate their birthdays with us — and as you can see, our brasero has plenty of room to feed all 13 of their friends! Happy birthday to you both! 🔥🎉🎂

🎂 A very special birthday celebration at Le Gîte du Bois Renard.

Samantha Collett joined us this week to mark her birthday in style, with a truly extraordinary bottle of Cossart Gordon Malmsey Madeira 1965, harvested in the very year she was born, matured for 27 years in American oak casks and bottled in 1992 and bought by Sam in 1993. A w**e that has been waiting 61 years for exactly this moment! 🍷

Paired with a magnificent spread of pastries, enjoyed on the terrace as the sun went down — we think that's a birthday done properly! 🥮🍰🎉
